Time To Say Cheers: Why Hiring A Portable Bar Is The Best Choice

Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, engagements – you name the event, it’s likely that somewhere throughout it, a bar will be featured and drinks will be flowing – even if they are non-alcoholic ones. Perfecting the right menu to suit your event can often be a tricky task and your choices must cater to all guests. Sometimes this can be too daunting and that is where the experts come in.

Why hire a Portable Bar?
Speaking to brides, grooms and other event organisers, who are potentially organising the biggest day of their lives or careers, a huge concern I come across is running a bar and the panic about what specific wines or spirits to get. Questions such as, will everyone like the drinks they’ve provided? Where will the bar go? How much Champagne do we need to buy? are what my customers often ask. Doing what we do means taking control of the bar logistics and by asking a few questions on drinks preferences, we can take the pressure off, so that the guests can just focus on enjoying the day.

The Stock
The most enjoyable part of running any bar is choosing the stock! Getting the right blend of local produce, and having something a bit different is the key to a successful evening. We have done a lot of homework on sourcing the right wine from the right vineyard, even visiting a few of them to pick grapes and sample the final product. That’s where we stumbled across a vineyard in Italy. Privately-run, it has been in the family for generations and until our visit, hadn’t been sampled by anyone in the UK. A combination of the above made our decision for us, from personally meeting the owners, trying the wine ourselves and with our unique selling point of our wine choice, we’ve never looked back.

Every Event is different
The versatility of each event is why we love doing what we do. You could be running a cocktail masterclass in someone’s garden in the city centre on the Friday, then be at a wedding for 200 people in Essex on the Saturday, the variation keeps you on your toes, especially in the summer. With all that being said, the most important factor for us is the guests. Whatever the event may be, a 21st birthday party, a wedding, a dinner party or a retirement party, the most important thing is that they all receive a faultless service & they enjoy themselves.

A massive thank you for providing an amazing and unique tent for our wedding. We were both so glad we went with the stretch tent for something a bit different and we couldn’t have been more pleased! All of our guests said how fabulous it looked! A big thank you also to everyone at Morton’s for helping and answering all of our questions in the run up to our big day. We were delighted with the marquee supplied by Morton’s Events.

Our guests were bowled over by the interlinking hexagonal “pods” (as we called them) and all commented on how special it made the wedding breakfast seem. We managed to accomodate 170 guests in plentiful space while making it seem intimate and cosy.

Mortons’ staff were incredibly helpful,flexible and obliging and decorated the marquee beautifully,with fairy lights and a fabulous starcloth ceiling over the dance “pod”.

Together with table decorations designed by my daughter,the effect created was magical,or as one guest put it “breathtaking.”

We would unhesitatingly advise any family contemplating a wedding in a marquee to opt for Morton’s.

The pods lend themselves in any situation and function and looked far better than we had both dreamed of.

We had Mortons marques for our daughters wedding. With 200 guests we had 5 pods, a 5×5 square for the bar area and another as the entrance.

The seating for the guests wrapped round the dance floor giving a wonderful view to all and creating a great atmosphere. Mortons were so helpful always at the end of the phone and the whole day and all preparations went to plan. We would definitely use them again.
