Make It Boho

One trend that has been gathering momentum on the wedding scene is the bohemian wedding. What does a bohemian wedding look like, you ask? Think along the lines of a lovechild between Stevie Nicks and your average wedding, an avant-garde masterpiece of floral and chalk paint.

There is a clear reason this style of wedding is so popular at the moment, simply put, it is breathtakingly beautiful, not only in the conventional sense but in the same way as the natural world that inspires it.

So you’re sold on the idea, but where do you go from here?

Location, location, location!

Home or aboard, that is the question? Both have their obvious pros and cons (home gives you more security, you speak the language you know your way around etc., however abroad can mean great weather and stunningly beautiful landscapes as well as adding a sense of exoticism to your bohemian wedding).

If you do decide to take the plunge and say your vows abroad, there are some countries that are that are highly recommended as wedding destinations, depending on your budget and the budgets of those you want in attendance. Recommended destinations include; Fiji, Greece, Spain, the south of France and Italy, all known for their beautiful scenery and friendly populations.

Catering? Live music? DJ? Florist? These are all “wedding vendors”- a wedding professional who provides a service or product to someone hosting a wedding.

These people will be an important part of making your big day spectacular, so think carefully about which ones you’ll need and whether or not they will contribute something extra to your big day. Make sure to ask plenty of questions before hiring any wedding vendor and make sure to ask some of their recent customers about the quality of the service provided.

Cover all your bases here – make sure you are 100% sure before hiring someone to be a part of your wedding as you’re going to have to put your faith in them to make sure your day runs smoothly.

Unleash your inner interior designer!

Remember that phase you had when you were a child in which you were obsessed with becoming an interior designer? It’s time for your childhood dream to come true.

One of the great things about bohemian weddings is that they’re often very DIY which cuts costs greatly, these DIY’s are also often very simple and will look fabulous even with minimal effort on your part. Included are some examples of bohemian wedding decorations as well as a few links to some simple DIY’s to get you started (pro-tip: Pinterest is your friend).

Say yes to the dress

One of the most exciting parts of weddings for many women – the dress, and to match our beautiful bohemian wedding, we need a beautiful bohemian bride. Bohemian style dresses are some of the most ethereal yet elegant styles out there. Some key features of bohemian style wedding dresses include; flowing skirts (mermaid style dresses and skirts with trains are popular), intricate detailing from sequins and beading to hems and edges, lace, flowing sleeves or no sleeves at all and sheer layers or material).

However regardless of your style of body shape, there is a stunning dress out there for your walk down the aisle.

It’s your wedding after all. The most important part of planning any wedding is the wedding itself, don’t get lost in a quest for the perfect day. Sit back, relax, and enjoy it regardless of any last minute disasters, if you find yourself getting stressed just sit back and ask yourself; “Does it really matter?” – chances are in the grand scheme of things it doesn’t, the today is about you and your significant other celebrating your love and commitment, and that’s what really matters.

A massive thank you for providing an amazing and unique tent for our wedding. We were both so glad we went with the stretch tent for something a bit different and we couldn’t have been more pleased! All of our guests said how fabulous it looked! A big thank you also to everyone at Morton’s for helping and answering all of our questions in the run up to our big day. I definitely feel I know more about luxury toilets and generators! We would recommend Morton’s to anyone planning a wedding and wanting a tent which is a little different.

We were delighted with the marquee supplied by Morton’s Events.

Our guests were bowled over by the interlinking hexagonal “pods” (as we called them) and all commented on how special it made the wedding breakfast seem. We managed to accomodate 170 guests in plentiful space while making it seem intimate and cosy.

Mortons’ staff were incredibly helpful, flexible and obliging and decorated the marquee beautifully, with fairy lights and a fabulous starcloth ceiling over the dance “pod”.

Together with table decorations designed by my daughter, the effect created was magical,or as one guest put it “breathtaking.”

We would unhesitatingly advise any family contemplating a wedding in a marquee to opt for Morton’s.

Morton’s were professional, accurate, knowledgable and nothing seemed a problem.

The pods lend themselves in any situation and function and looked far better than we had both dreamed of.
Thank you Simon for making our day go without a hitch and for all your hard work and for what seemed like ours was the only function that year!

We had Mortons marques for our daughters wedding. With 200 guests we had 5 pods, a 5×5 square for the bar area and another as the entrance.

The seating for the guests wrapped round the dance floor giving a wonderful view to all and creating a great atmosphere. Mortons were so helpful always at the end of the phone and the whole day and all preparations went to plan. We would definitely use them again.
