How to incorporate Ultra Violet into your wedding!

Every year, Pantone announce their ‘colour of the year’ and every year, it usually leads the way for wedding themes and decorations for our customers. In the past colours like baby blue, soft pink and green have been announced but this year, a more out there colour has found its way to the forefront. Ultra Violet. Now, whilst it’s a little different to what we are used to at weddings, we are actually kind of digging it. The cosmic and creative colour is a great way to make a bold statement at your wedding. Step aside neutral colour pallets and make way for this amazing entry from the Purple family!

Whilst we are fully on board with this colour choice, we understand that to start with it could be difficult to establish how exactly to incorporate this bold hue into your big day. We’ve put together some ideas that will hopefully inspire you to be a little daring at your 2018 wedding!

Perhaps the easiest way to incorporate different colours and textures into your wedding is through the florals that you choose. We are used to seeing roses, lilies and soft peonies when it comes to neutral based weddings but what about some verbenas, dwarf iris’ or lavender brought into bouquets or as centre pieces for your tables? Subtle enough to not be overpowering, they will add a whole different theme to your theme.

The bridesmaids’ dresses are often the decision maker for the colour pallet that you choose and represent exactly what you want from your wedding. With that in mind, they are the perfect way to bring Ultra Violet forward in an elegant and sensible way. If you have a lot of  bridesmaids and the idea of lots of the same colour scares you, why not try different tones and hues to create dimension and variation amongst your wedding party.

The cake is a key part of the big day and it’s often something guests talk about afterwards. However, it’s also one of the parts of the day that can be as ‘different’ as you like! With Ultra Violet tones in mind, experiment with flavours and decorations including the icing, cake toppers and even the stand it sits on to bring this colour to life in the cake!

When it comes to a venue, especially a marquee, they are a blank canvas. We often see people transform our marquees with candles, linens, lanterns, balloons, bunting, fairy light, ribbon and even chair decorations so why not use those in yours but in the Ultra Violet hue. These small details will make a large impact on the overall appearance of your wedding and get people talking for all the right reasons!
