Although we offer 3 different styles of marquee, our stretch tent is truly our showstopper. Its architectural design makes it something to admire when it’s in use and makes it one of the most popular choices for weddings. With bohemian, relaxed styled weddings taking the lead nowadays, it’s the stretch tents true time to shine. One of our couples, Hattie and Justin, thought the same and hired the stretch for their wedding in September. This month, they are our featured wedding and the pictures look great!
In picturesque Wells-next-the-sea, Holkham Hall stands proudly in its estate which is made up of farming land, woodland and over 300 houses, which are continuously maintained to look after the land and wildlife for the foreseeable future. It’s one of the most ideal North Norfolk locations to get married and as such, is very popular with couples from in and around the area, surrounded by a romantic deer park with a lake, temple and woodland. Although, multiple areas in the estate are available to use for a wedding, many of our couples choose the beautiful walled garden for their reception and that’s exactly what Hattie and Justin did.
“The private walled garden was built in the mid-eighteenth century and is being restored and one section has been laid to lawn surrounded by borders filled with colourful summer bedding. The venue is sheltered by the high walls surrounding the six acre garden and there is ample space for a large marquee and entertaining. Because the walled garden is so private, this is an ideal place for marquee wedding receptions and parties.” Hattie and Justin maximised the potential of this space with our stretch marquee. Inside, long tables were used to accommodate all their guests and some of the sides were left open to give an airy feel. Outside, they used hay bales and traditional games, along with wooden tables to create a rustic vibe that worked amazingly with the style of the stretch tent.
The inside of the marquee reflected the rustic, almost bohemian vibes that were translated on the outside. Long tables and chivalry chairs were used for the wedding breakfast with floral accents and candles scattered across the table creating a relaxed atmosphere. Wooden decorations were dotted around the marquee, along with a mirror that laid out the table plan, something we absolutely loved! With the party heading deep into the night, fairy lights were also used around the poles of the marquee, along the entrance and also outside so the couples guests could enjoy the reception even when it was dark.
Samantha Race was at the helm of the decorating and The Hanging Lantern Company also provided amazing ceiling decorations to truly transform the marquee. We think the pictures speak for themselves!
