If you’ve been swimming in bouquets and scratching your head trying to figure out your roses from your lilies, then maybe it just might be that floral isn’t for you and your wedding. And that’s OK. 2016 has seen simple greenery as a huge wedding trend and its elegant simplicity makes it easy to figure out why.
Where you’d normally be colour coordinating your tulips with your roses while making sure that neither clash with your daisies (heaven forbid), swap the flowers for all-green foliage. Use a succulent as the centre and create some depth and texture with ferns, plumosa and salal greens.
Ivory and white offset green perfectly – so keep the rest of your décor simple and understated so your pops of green can really do the talking. Create garlands with different size leaves to drape across the front of the top table. Decorate light fixtures with hanging ferns and replace flowers with cacti for the table decorations. Simple, quirky and sure to get your guests talking.
Dedicate a wall in your venue to transform into a “plant wall”. The statement décor will be the perfect backdrop for photos of you and your guests to savour the memories. We suggest hanging strips of leaves downwards to completely cover the wall, or discreetly pin the foliage so it hangs decoratively.
There are loads of other ways you could make greenery your statement theme, but our main tip is keep it simple!
