Guest Blog: Vintage Partyware

As we progress through the summer of 2016, wedding announcements and proposal videos continue to fill up our social media feeds. After all the excitement of popping the question, couples then have to think long and hard about the details of their big day – when will it be? Where? The dress. The theme. What to decorate the venue with.

So, you’ve been pinning away on Pinterest, scrolled through Facebook groups and searched hashtags on Instagram and Twitter and it’s now time to pull together all of your ideas and inspiration to style the day. You hit the shops. The first thing you notice is the price of the items you’d like to decorate your venue with. But you plough on and tentatively buy the first few items. You get home, and the next problem hits you – there’s 12 long months until the big day… where do you store all this?

That’s where Vintage Partyware comes in! No, we’re not a storage company, but we do have these five little reasons why it is better to hire your decor…

Make your day truly unique.

Hiring your decor will mean you have access to original, quality pieces. Think 1920s bone china, or 100 year old rustic barrels. Have you seen a rustic wedding arch for sale that doesn’t look like it comes from the garden centre? No, nor me! We hand made ours. If you do manage to find any of these items for sale somewhere, they’re likely to be pricey.

Save money.

Typically, hiring your decor works out around 75% cheaper than buying it. With the extra cash, you’ll have more to spend on bubbly, the dress or even your honeymoon. Got a budget of £250 for your decor? Hire it, and you’ll see £1000 worth of decor at your venue to style your big day!

Save time.

You won’t need to visit 12 different branches of a High Street store in order to find the correct number of matching items or trawl the internet looking for the cheapest cake stand or the perfect parasol. And if you’re going down the vintage or rustic route, then it is so much harder to find original items these days – charity shops and car booters know their stuff and sell these for high prices online instead.

Forget the logistical nightmare.

Where will you store all that vintage china? And who will lug those antique frames to and from the venue? A hire company will do that for you! Here at Vintage Partyware, delivery and collection is free within a 20 mile radius too…

Support a local independent business.

Most hire companies are small, independent businesses. Vintage Partyware operates from our home in North Wootton, near King’s Lynn and is run by myself (Antony). I set up the business after an accident left me unable to continue with my old job. By enlisting the services of a hire company, you are helping to boost the local economy and supporting small businesses. Nice, isn’t it?!

Your wedding day should be the most special day of your life and for me, knowing that I’ve contributed in some small way is a fantastic feeling. Knowing that I can help more couples make the most of their big day spurs me on – and it saves you having to sell or store all you’ve bought after the day itself!

A massive thank you for providing an amazing and unique tent for our wedding. We were both so glad we went with the stretch tent for something a bit different and we couldn’t have been more pleased! All of our guests said how fabulous it looked! A big thank you also to everyone at Morton’s for helping and answering all of our questions in the run up to our big day. I definitely feel I know more about luxury toilets and generators! We would recommend Morton’s to anyone planning a wedding and wanting a tent which is a little different.

We were delighted with the marquee supplied by Morton’s Events.

Our guests were bowled over by the interlinking hexagonal “pods” (as we called them) and all commented on how special it made the wedding breakfast seem. We managed to accomodate 170 guests in plentiful space while making it seem intimate and cosy.

Mortons’ staff were incredibly helpful, flexible and obliging and decorated the marquee beautifully, with fairy lights and a fabulous starcloth ceiling over the dance “pod”.

Together with table decorations designed by my daughter, the effect created was magical,or as one guest put it “breathtaking.”

We would unhesitatingly advise any family contemplating a wedding in a marquee to opt for Morton’s.

Morton’s were professional, accurate, knowledgable and nothing seemed a problem.

The pods lend themselves in any situation and function and looked far better than we had both dreamed of.
Thank you Simon for making our day go without a hitch and for all your hard work and for what seemed like ours was the only function that year!

We had Mortons marques for our daughters wedding. With 200 guests we had 5 pods, a 5×5 square for the bar area and another as the entrance.

The seating for the guests wrapped round the dance floor giving a wonderful view to all and creating a great atmosphere. Mortons were so helpful always at the end of the phone and the whole day and all preparations went to plan. We would definitely use them again.
